Pumpkin Patch

So, since I missed all the Pumpkin Carving and costume dressing last year in the Washington/Nevada transition, I decided to have a little Mom and Ros time at the local pumpkin patch this year. It was 80 degrees outside, and the pumpkins were not actually in a field, however the field was next door. It was still the same idea. There was a corn maze, tractor rides, and a bouncy house. Ros was pretty excited, and said "this is way cooler than last years store bought "WalMart" pumpkins!" Every year in the past we have always taken Ros to a warm, well lit church to "trunk or treat," and celebrate in a Harvest Festival like fashion. Which means, we have also never taken Roslynn Trick Or Treating. We broke down this year. After all, it was not raining and it was warm enough to not need a coat. I have never seen so many homes in one location going all out as I have here. There were some pretty decked out front yards, and garages set up as haunted houses. October 31st is called "Nevada Day" and is state holiday. It's the day Nevada became a state. All government offices and schools close...and the kids go door to door and get candy. Not sure if we will trick or treat next year or not, but it was fun this time around. I wonder if the Christmas decorations will be as extravagant as Halloween?
